Substance Abuse

Many people think they have their use of (legal or illegal) substances under control. But, if it negatively influences their school or work performance, health, or relationships, it is a problem that should be addressed. You don’t have to be an “addict” in order for your use to become a issue.

Symptoms

  • increasing amount of substance is needed
  • withdrawal symptoms
  • preoccupation with substance
  • use impacts school or job, family life, or other social relationships
  • legal problems

How Counseling Can Help

Treatment for substance abuse can be difficult for the client. I provide a non-judgmental environment to help clients identify causes and triggers for their substance use. Together, we will find ways to deal with negative emotions and difficult situations without the need for substances.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I don’t charge for emails or phone calls.
